ARGH! The wait is killing me! Craig ended up having to have surgery and it will be a little while before he is up to any strenuous tasks. Until then, my stove sits in Mineral Wells waiting for me to pick it up! Again... ARGH! Of course my husbands health comes first... don't get me wrong. I've just never been good at the waiting thingie. Here is a picture of a very similar model. Same handles but, mine is a double door. And, mine is in better shape.

OK, she needs a bath... but, I think she's quite pretty! The door is ajar because the seller removed the handles on that side, for safety purposes. Dirty, dirty, dirty... This is so cool! This basket is inserted into tracks on the shelf below, so you can slide it in and out with ease. The dividers are adjustable. Nifty little "Food Safety Indicator" built in to the front of a shelf. 50 degrees is in the safety zone? After 70 years, most of this label is still intact! Check it out! A defroster! LOL As far as I can tell, the only this missing is the glass tray that slides into the shelf below the "freezer". Now, I'm ready to start cleaning! Well, I need to replace the gaskets around the door as well.

Thanks Piper! I've found a few (very few) of the single door models online but, nothing that even references the double door SUPER DUTY (Ford? LOL) before.

What a beaut!! Love the french doors. BTW...since you got the fridge, does that mean hubby's well again?

Thanks everyone!
Amanda, hubby IS better! Thank goodness! I'm just glad he didn't hurt anything moving this beaut! She is SO heavy!
Hippie-dude, my best guess is 1937. The literature I've found shows the '37 single door model I posted originally. Nothing I have found even references a double door model!
Hmmmm... now I have to re-think my kitchen remodel! LOL This big girl won't fit in the space I had originally planned.

Just curious.....how big is the old girl? I would love to find one like that. Old refrigerators don't come around that often in my neck of the woods.

Sorry for taking so long, V!
This big girl measures 38"w X 26"d X 64'h.
She's coming along nicely! The interior cleaned up like a DREAM! I'm working on the shelves now and it's quite a job! I got lucky and found the glass defrost tray that goes under the freezer. On Ebay, of course! LOL Can't believe I found one!

She would fit beautifully in my current space! I've always wanted a vintage fridge, now my urge has intensified since your purchase. I truly have refrigerator envy. I went to an estate sale today, but nothing. That's one thing that really never comes up in my area.

Well, now you need to get a right and proper Model A to go along with it. We must maintain "Temporal Integrity" in our vintage appliances. ;-)

Fatfutures,
Have you plugged her in yet? Wondering if the electric bill would go up with one of these? Ha did say his bill went down a couple of bucks when he started using his. That would be my only fear - my electric bill going up. NY utility prices are sky high.

Treatsie...
We've plugged her in.. she works but has a couple issues. We're deciding if we'll repair what's there or replace. Retrofitting one of these guys isn't THAT big of a deal and might be more energy efficient. Just make sure you've got good gaskets/door seals. That my big hunt right now...gaskets.
