Okay, this is my sister Katie's "famous" corn recipe she makes every Thanksgiving and Christmas. IF you're gonna get the corn from fresh sweet corn, 2 dozen ears made fifteen cups when blanched/cut off the cob. KATIE'S CREAMY CORN 6 cups fresh corn, or 2 pkgs frozen corn 1.5 pkgs Cream Cheese (12 oz) 2 sticks of butter (1 cup) Fresh ground pepper to taste Combine all the above. Kate said the secret is to cook it slowly over very low heat, as in a crockpot several hours on low. HOWEVER, I feel this would work fine in the thermowell. I'm SUGGESTING 20 minutes of gas, then one hour or longer CWTGTO. PLEASE update this, if someone DOES make this in the thermowell. I also wanna show you two VERY handy tools Monkey has. She bought the "cutter" in the closeout aisle @ our local Dillon's (Kroger's) store, brand name "Goodcook". And MAN, does it work SLICK!!! The other is for removing the corn silk. I peeled it & pulled off what I could w/my hands, and then used a soft bristle vegetable brush on it, brushing BOTH directions. There was STILL a lot of silk left!! I ran this device up & down it several times, twisting it as I did, and they were probably as silk-free as I EVER had sweet corn!! Here's the two tools. The silk brush came from our local M&P Hardware store, Gronis. The other Dillon's. First pic shows the two of them together, the second the "teeth" on the cutter: And this is the finished product. Notice how the cutter almost leaves ALL the kernels INTACT:
CHEERS! Chuckie

That cutter sure beats a chef’s knife for corn!

We have a Good Grips version of the cutter but I've never seen the brush. That's really cool.
