Okay, I did a VERY superficial search today for a MODERN road map that BASICALLY follows these two trails. I have decided THESE are gonna be me & Monkey's NEXT two camping trips!!! BOTH trails (basically) STARTED in our area. Any leads?
My Irish Great Granddad married me Irish GGM Julia (nee Brady) in Fort Laramie, WY, and I ASSUME they traveled the OREGON trail on the way back to Fort Leavenworth, where he mustered out and they settled in LV town. Any clues would be GREATLY appreciated!!

About a week ago I was looking at visiting our Grandson next Spring, who's in the Air Force and stationed in New Mexico, and then heading through Texas and then to Kansas and Iowa. In my digging I came across some stuff on the Santa Fe Trail Association and it looked really fascinating so saved the link: santafetrail.org/. They also have a Facebook page and it's pretty informative too: www.facebook.com/santafetrail1821/. It has a bunch of links about places along the way, like 12 places in Kansas that everyone should explore at least once: 12 Places in Kansas. The Santa Fe Trail Association page seems like a great place to start the planning.

Oh MAN, mach12, that FIRST link was E-X-A-C-T-L-Y what I was looking for!!! Tells THEE exact, CURRENT ROAD route you need to take in EACH State to follow it as close as possible. Sounds like it'll be an INTERESTING but LENGTHY camping trip, following the route!! NOW to decide WHEN... *sigh* Thanks again, CHEERS! Chuckie
