Yep, that's right...you can now request a copper finish in porcelain at IPE....and it looks awesome!
I stopped by IPE today to drop of some panels with Jeff and he was kinda excited about a new finish he did for Ms Bellgrove (The Stove Lady) at her request. She wanted to see if he could duplicate a copper finish in porcelain so he did his magic on a pantry door and sent it back for a comparison. She compared it to an original clean copper panel and told him it was a "darn close" if not an exact match to the original Chambers copper. She had him do all the panels the same way and then sent a picture once the stove was complete. With Chuckie's help we're going to try and pull the pictures from my text message from Jeff and post them soon.
Jeff said the technique uses real copper flecks imbedded into the porcelain giving it a real copper look. It cost $1,400 to do all the outer panels on a 61C but think of all the work and money NOT spent trying to restore or replace the copper finish.

Wow, that looks awesome! Probably it wouldn't fool anyone into thinking it was real copper, but a beautiful color and sheen in its own right. A nice way to get the copper look and feel without the difficulty.

I love it! It does remind me of the copper porcelain that was popular through the fifties.

We kind of took it easy today, and run around Kansas City looking for parts that did not pan out too well, but we got the drill bits we needef. Wayne or I may write more later... CHEERS!! Chuckie
