I got a little motivated yesterdays & did a few things around the house. I weeded a bit of my driveway that's been overtaken by crabgrass & various weeds over time. It needs much more work, but I've made a start. I've also been digging through my coal bin to clear out so much junk that's gotten stuffed in there to get it out of sight & mind. I pulled these two accent chair out that I picked up years ago. There's two chairs here in the basement that I need to toss. One was Max's who had to be put down three years ago because of bladder cancer had finally got the best of him a month before mom died. The other was ruby's, who now lives with my brother at mom's old house. It' about time they move on now. They are just taking up space, cause I don't use them except to pile things on.
Dig the mod styling of these 60s vintage leopard print accent chairs. Someone was throwing them out quite a few years ago. The frame is pulled apart in the front of the one on the left, but should be a simple fix once I peel the fabric back. They're a bit modern for me, but I like that they're a bit of a change of pace. I did a bit of searching & you can still buy similar chairs even today.
Next I drove to a couple of the thrift stores, but didn't see anything I couldn't live without. I drove through downtown & stopped & took a few pics of the restored 1939 Greyhound Bus Terminal. The sun was in my face, so the pic is not great I need to go down there a little earlier when the sun will be behind me.
This is what it looked like when it was boarded up before restoration. I don't know if the got the shade of blue wrong, or if the old porcelain coated panel had faded from the sun. They didn't redo the porcelain. Instead they had them powder coated them.
Lastly I found a shadow box to mount my old thumb latches so I can hang them on the wall. the one for the WELL was bashed so it was pretty ugly. A member on Todd's site asked to try to redo it with some glass paint he was experimenting with. I found a new set, so these were extras now. I left a space in the middle of the bottom for something extra. I haven't decided yet. Perhaps a coin from 1935 when the stove was built, or a thistle button or pin. I'll have to see what I can find. It also needs some sort of colored paper for the background too. Whet you see is foam I cut from a to-go container from my dinner last night.
Here's what the one for the WELL looked like before.
