Well, at least it looks warm and cozy! That's a beautiful place you've got there.

Got a blast yesterday when I got the mail, -43 below(at 11 AM) wind chill to the face is something you hope not to deal with every winter. We have only seen 4 days over freezing since Early November. Today it got over 0 air temp(-15chill), for the first time in a week, I live in long johns. And use my Chambers daily for additional heat.

Ron, your place is beautiful! I'm not sure I could handle the winters that some of you get. We get some morning with temps in the teens, but we also have plenty of winter afternoons that are 70 and sunny.

ron said his lines were less than 4 ft, with extended cold and not much snow cover I hope they are frozen and not burst. Ours are 8 ft down and once in a while they break, a true mess. So far ok *touch wood*

Weather forecast is above freezing Friday afternoon and all day Saturday – plan to clear ground and burn wood. Crossing fingers nothing broke… I’m told from one of the ‘locals’ that it has not been this bad in 16 years (or more). Last winter it only got down below 20 a few times but this year we are having a hard time getting above 20 degrees ------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE - I GOT WATER!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it can be pretty too.
..unless
it just keeps on coming.

Those are beautiful pics, especially the one of the snowflakes. Where do you live? We finally have a break in the weather in the Midwest, just about the time I got my boilers fixed after NO central heat all winter. I'm happy your Chambers is keeping you warm.

When spring/summer get here I will be relieved. Looking forward to this.
We are in northwestern Wis. a mile from here, Lake Superior.

With that garden and the lake so close I'd say the winters are worth it! As child I liked in the Milwaukee suburbs and remember the snow towering over my head. Granted, I was only small, but that's still alot of snow.

Cinnabar, those snow pictures are beautiful, but the green one looks much more appealing at this point! We should be well into spring here in east Texas, but we're running 3 to 4 weeks late. The closest town to us, Tyler, has the Azalea Trails festival at this time every year, but the only things to see right now are some freeze-damaged shrubs and bare trees. This is what it looked like in March 2009:

Nice, I can hardly wait! Hope not too many plants and trees were damaged by the cold. We have some shrubs that were winter burned because they stuck out above the snow. Yeah, hard to believe anything was above the snow, still have 3 feet on the ground and it is supposed to start up again today. Think melting, melting, melting.
