Cinn: I do NOT like pancakes, but those sound interesting! May have to give them a try!
I have a recipe for silver dollar sourdough pancakes--so called because the Monkey's Mom only made them the size of silver dollars or slightly larger. I took them to Lake of the Ozarks this w/e, and they were a HUGE hit--even w/those like me who don't "do" pancakes. It is said they are more like a 'crêpe' than a pancake...
As stated I do NOT like pancakes, but LOVE these w/the sourdough taste; I eat them buttered w/o syrup. I will make myself two LARGE ones, and use them as bread with a smoked turkey or cheese sandwich--to DIE for! Before the Monkey became vegetarian, she used to love them w/Braunschweiger on them.
Let me know if you're into sourdough, and I'll post the recipe; you just have to have some starter around, as it takes a cup of that to make...

58 I TRIED, but can't get it to align properly. I sent it to you as a personal message--PLEASE feel free to post iffen you can figure out how to make it work.
It shows 1/2 recipe & full recipe, and was basically TWO columns, and they didn't come through that way as a cut/paste...

DUMB @$$ that I am, I realized the 1/2 recipe is just that--one HALF the full recipe--DUH!!! One-half of a quarter cup equals 2 - TBS, BTW... Below is Monkey's family's recipe, verbatim from her bro: ENJOY! ----------------------------------------------- SOURDOUGH PANCAKES On the day before you want to have the pancakes you need to make a starter. You will let it sit out overnight (8-12hrs) and then you can add the additional ingredients for the batter. Can be halved, this is for a WHOLE order ( IF halved, one-half of a quarter cup equals 2 - TBS) Whole Order Starter (assemble the night before): 2 cups sourdough (you need to already have this made--follow link: chamberscommune.proboards.com/ind....026&page=1#9608 I believe we doubled this from the get-go, as most of our recipes called for two cups starter) 2 cups flour 1 cup milk Mix together well, cover loosely or w/tea towel Ingredients for the following morning/ day 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup melted butter or oil 2 eggs beaten 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt Blend into starter above. WILL bubble up & double, can stir down. IF you don't use it all up, you CAN refrigerate to use the next day, but best if all used up at once, hence why we halve it. That is the recipe that we follow. We always use the melted butter. The half order is usually enough for our gang

Chuckie, I'm a little confused about one part -
You say : Whole Order Starter (assemble the night before):
2 cups sourdough 2 cups flour 1 cup milk
Do I just add 1 cup milk to 2 cups flour and let it sit on the counter for 24hrs to make 2 cups sourdough, or am I supposed to add "2 cups sourdough" to the flour and milk as well? And if so, what exactly is that?
How do I start the sourdough starter?
Help! Always ;-) Hunzi

NO, sorry, guess I'd better go in and modify it!!! You need to already HAVE sourdough starter made!!! I got a recipe for the sourdough starter off of one of these two Chambers sites I THOUGHT, but now I can't seem to find it. I'll post the sourdough starter recipe tonight, and modify the original post to make it clearer. Sorry for the confusion! Chuckie
