I'll post some pics tomorrow of our kitchen (please excuse the clutter) as its currently setup and hope that you all can make some suggestions as to how we can best use Ms CopperTone. We'll have to rip out some cabinetry, I'm just not sure which side would be of more use. - I found pics pre-moving in ;D so you don't have to see the clutter! They did something really stupid with the top cabinets, they are too low so you can't even put a stand mixer on the counter without it being half off Moveable Pantry Added in for extra space Microwave is in the corner (not pictured) Modern stove-sized opening with gas connection Hubby wants to remove the single cabinet on the left, BUT, he has his coffeepot on a moveable butcher's block snugged into that side of the wall which would make it annoying for me to try to put anything in the oven. I'd much prefer removing the cabinet with the single extra sink and remove the wooden cabinetry around the Refigerator opening. Refrigerator Opening

Big problem with removing the cabinet next to the refrigerator, they did something wacky with the plumbing so we'll have to rip out the cabinet on the left which means I'll have the stove right next to the wall on the broiler side, not something I wanted to do.
ARGH!

Can you put a cook top in the existing stove opening with an open cabinet below it for pots, etc, and create an island for your stove.

hmmm, I thought about the Island idea, but our kitchen is not very big so it would not be space efficient and we'd have to move around an awful lot - we are headed to Lowes to get some help from the xperts - this is driving me nutz. Now I have my stove but hardly any space to DO stuff!
