Made this a few days back in the chambers. Very easy and tasty. I forgot the butter on the top, no matter it vanished quickly. A heavy bicuit-y bread grreat with Lentil and Andoulli Sausage soup. Or any soup, Makes great toast too! Didn't have any self rising flour so had to look it up... FYI, self rising four is: 1 cup flour +1 1/2 tsp baking powder+1/2 tsp salt. You learn something new here every day cinnabar

We use this recipe too! Great with chili, we add sesame seeds to the top before baking. FIL says not to double when mixing, but I can fit three loaves in my B. Neighbors like porter, I prefer a lager version.
