Hello all,IIjust moved into a rental that has a very neglected chambers B 15 stove as the cooking element. The cast iron removable oven floor is very pitted, and much of the black enamel coating has worn away (some is lightly flaking. Is this safe to use? Is there a way to restore this properly (I have landlord permission) Thanks!

That's pretty common and is perfectly safe to clean up and use. I'd just scrape off the loose enamel and wire brush the loose dirt and rust, then clean it and season it like you would a cast iron pan. You could look for a replacement with better enamel or send the one you have to Independence Porcelain Enamel in Independence, MO and have it refinished but it won't improve functionality. Might make it easier to clean a bit but probably not worth the investment unless you're doing a full restoration for long term use. The main purpose of the floor is to store heat for cooking while the gas is turned off, so a seasoned floor works just fine.
