So Chuckie reminded me a couple days ago there was a guy in KC who wanted me to come help him get his BZ tuned and ready for use. Good thing he did because I completely forgot. 😐 His BZ has the HIGH burners and SHALLOW drip pans that are meant for LP (right?) but his orifices are NG with the pointed pin under the cap. He is presently using NG. Now even though his grates ARE for a BZ, his drip pans have 12 notches around the edge. They look to be factory originals because the notches are all exactly the same and uniform. Has anyone ever seen these types of pans? If so, any ideas why? Maybe they were B pans modified for the BZ....heck if I know. Oh, and he has a griddle off a late C or a D model stove. I’m guessing someone down the line did some modifications.

I'm going to guess this must be from a cook-top or some later stove in order to come up with a universal one that would work on all stoves.

I'm going to guess this must be from a cook-top or some later stove in order to come up with a universal one that would work on all stoves. I'd bet you're right on the universal drip pan, though I don't have anything showing it specifically, or at least that I've found so far. It does make a lot of sense though. The service manual on page 19 shows two versions of the pans with the kidney shaped opening (vs. the 4-leaf clover openings on C's) and the notches are in different positions depending on which model stove it's for. It says the original pans only had two notches and the replacements had more. Comparing the illustrations and the posted photo it looks like the one in the posted photo shows a version that has the notches in the locations for either application, so can be used to convert any pre-BZ, plus could be used on the BZ. The B-BZ parts list only illustrates one with 6 notches but then lists several different ones and includes a note to include additional info with your order. The following insert that came with one of my BZ's was eventually included in the B-BZ service manual and on the second page talks about the grate and drip ring. The part number listed for the drip ring is the one the service manual says to use when converting a B from natural gas to LP.
