This picture was in the paper this morning. I would think it was a fake, except the photographer, Bruce Squiers is the ex husband of a woman I used to work with and I know he would not put his name on a fake. I love where I live! This is a view of the Champlain Valley from Mount Defiance in Ticonderoga NY.

What a great shot! I love that country, though I didn't get much time there when it wasn't covered in snow.

That's certainly an apt title. It surely is a glorious shot the way the mountains cascade down to the valley. Even though the rainbow feels like it could be a fake. A good photographer doesn't need tricks to get an image like that. Maybe a little luck sometimes. This feels almost like a impressionist painting titled "God's Country".
We can have fall color like that around here, but we don't have the topography to view it like this. Most of this part of the country is pretty flat. At best we might have some hills a couple of hundred feet high from high spots to low. I'd love to spend a little time up your way. The nearest I've been was to visit my sister when she lived in Buffalo, NY. I didn't even get to see Niagara Falls while there.
