Does anyone know of a source for salt & pepper shaker stoppers? The standard heater that I brought home last month came with a really nice original set of shakers and the plugs are there but they've seen their day. EBay has some in the size I need (3/4") but that's all I've found unless I want to buy a bag of 100 from a supplier on Amazon. The ones on eBay sound fine except that the options are either white or clear and the original plugs are black, as are the shakers. It seems I've seen them somewhere but have struck out finding them so far.

I've seen corks in the bottom of shakers before (novelty shakers from different States, etc) and Gronis Hardware our local M&P shop has TONS of various sized corks CHEAP. IF you have no luck elsewhere, shoot me a size & I'll pick up 3 for you (if you're like ME, you're gonna DROP one down a floor grate or otherwise LOSE it!! LOL). CHEERS! Chuckie

Thanks Chuckie. In a perfect world I'd like to find a pair of black silicon rubber stoppers but the only ones out there are white, at least what I've found so far. I sent a note to a friend in Egypt and asked him to see what he could find. They make salt & pepper shakers over there like crazy. Pyramids, Sphinx's and anything else you can imagine so thought that might be a good source but they are mostly cork. I never got really excited about seasoning my eggs with S&P from some Pharaoh's head. I'm funny that way.

Check at a pottery supply store. I used to make all sorts of hand-built shakers and they sell them very cheaply in white, cork and black. The cork are good because they absorb moisture from the salt. I have a little set of cutters that make plugs in all variety of sizes, but I don't think it would be a worthwhile investment for a one off use. Post a pic of the shakers when you can.

Here's a picture of them. I haven't cleaned them up yet so they're as they came. (Edit: I meant to give the dimensions of the shakers for future reference. The bottoms measure 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" and the height is 3 5/8")
You can see them in their holders on either side of the clock in the craigslist ad photos:
