...and here's a helpful hint from Heloise:
When drying 4 lbs of sliced mushrooms overnight using the pilot light heat in your Chambers oven, leave the door open a crack or you will wake up to lots of rust colored drips leaking out the bottom of the door.
Mushrooms give up a TON of water! They probably would have been completely dried if I had thought to do that. As it is, they will be done by this afternoon I guess. No real harm done. It cleaned up.

That's funny, nana. I do mine in the Twell.... no dripping. I sometimes grind them afterwards to add instant mushroomy flavour to things. I'll miss summer and my roses, but looking forward to spending more quality time with Althea and the Copper Beauty.
