I bought my Chambers stove over the weekend! I am so excited. My husband and I drove to Memphis to get it last Saturday. It is a white 90C from 1953. We paid $300 and it came with a Thermobaker! The porcelain looks fantastic. It is missing a handle for the storage compartment and the timer knob came off. I have ordered a manual for it and hubby and I plan to rehab it as a project. I bought lots of cleaning products that were recommended on this forum, so I plan to start cleaning it this weekend. Can't wait to get it fixed up and try it out. The previous owner was using it until recently, so I know it works. Yaayyy!

Congratulations on a fantastic price (especially with the thermobaker)! Happy cooking.

That's fantastic! We love pictures!! My 61C is white and I love it. Nice and clean and looks great in any kitchen. That's not to say I don't love the blue of my 90C (my personal favorite but then blue has always been my favorite color). Congratulations!!

Congrats, 5talents! It is a great feeling when you finally get a Chambers. It's even better when you start to learn to cook the Chambers way.

Yeah for you! Congratulations on your new stove, and to get the thermobaker with it for that price is a STEAL! Yes, we definitely like photos. Post some when you get a chance, so we can all drool.

Here are a couple of pics of my new 90C. How do I get the brown baked on gunk off of the front? I have tried DPD, vinegar/water, and ammonia/water. I don't want to scratch the finish. This stuff is really baked on after 60+ years. Attachments:

I have several different cleaners that work well, DPD being the first thing I try and that obviously didn't work for you so the next think is Fast Orange hand cleaner. If that doesn't do it then fume-free Easy Off oven cleaner almost always works. I have a trigger sprayer type bottle of it but they also sell it in a spray can like their Heavy Duty oven cleaner. I spray it on and after it has sat for the recommended time, I use one of those non-scratch scrubbers to finish cleaning it off. BBQ Grill cleaners are also supposed to work well and be safe for porcelain too but I have needed it yet. I'm pretty impressed with the fume-free Easy Off so far.

Thanks! I will try the Easy Off. I have amassed quite a large collection of cleaners recently.
