I belong to a GE monitor top forum (http://monitortop.freeforums.net) at the behest of a friend who wanted me to "show-off" my Victory fridge. Yesterday someone posted a fascinating salesman's brochure for the 1927 lineup along with some misc. loose pages tucked in the back. One was an ad for a fridge co. in Cincy long since defunct I'm presuming, but one of the others was a sales referral sheet with models purchased which is from MY little neighborhood. Some of these houses are a stone's throw literally! The poster is in Or and bought it from someone in Co so the chances of my seeing this and having such a connection are slim indeed. I still can't get over it and thought I'd share the pdfs. One is for the entire download and the other is by page. I wish we could find something like this for Chambers because I'm sure they had one. archive.org/details/RetailSalesmansHandbookOnGERefrigeratorsarchive.org/index.phpClick on the Texts icon and there is a field called Search This Collection. Key in RetailSalesmansHandbookonGERefrigerators Capitalization isn't an issue but the search engine seems to need the entire title. Then you can page through the upload and enlarge it and I assume print just one page rather than the whole thing. Enjoy!!!

That's neat. I haven't had time to read through it, but the sales chart at the beginning says a lot. I've read that refrigerator sales continued to increase even in the worst of the depression because it was such a leap ahead of old iceboxes.
I've never seen one of those tiny model S-32 with only 2 1/2 cubic feet of capacity. It's like a retro version of the typical college dorm mini fridges we've got today. The Hospital version at the end is wild with those huge wheels on outriggers.

How cool! I'm amazed at how much they cost back then. At those prices, I'm sure most people could only dream of having one in 1928.

I know. I think they were even more than a Chambers! I going to ask a couple of neighbors if they may still have theirs since so many of these houses have had very few owners.
