OK guys and gals. I am finally lighting the oven on my C, but there's a problem. If I light the burner itself it lights great, but I get NOTHING when I light it through the little flash tube (as I need to when the baffle is in place.) I thought maybe with the baffle it would work better, but still no go. The pilot lights fine. I don't have the added "safety" standing pilot. I don't have this issue on my B and it does the same thing with two different burners. Any guesses?

Did you ever get this figured out Vaporvac?

No...thanks for asking. I need to make and put in a new pin to replace the one that broke off on the oven pilot and see if that's the key. It lights great with a match, but obviously no bypass without that pilot light on.

Seems very strange. I'll be really interested in hearing about the fix.

Hi all. I finally was able to address this issue and free the by-pass and pilot pins and install a new pin for the oven pilot that broke. I have set the main and by-pass oven flame, but the pilot still won't turn on. There's obviously gas getting to the oven, so what could be keeping the pilot from lighting? I checked all the lines and they're connected. Could I just need to somehow open it more?;it's as far as I can go without retrofitting the new pin. Any insight is appreciated. p.s. I don't have the standing "safety" pilot, just the original. This is on a C.

Well, 7.5 months later and I have an oven!!! Yeah!!! I was getting worried it was something serious, but it was just a clogged pilot line and mucked up tip. It's the only one I didn't blow out apparently and while the pilot was clean on the top, the hole in the bottom was grungy. After connecting it all back I was able to get it working, but will do a proper calibration tomorrow. I didn't boil out this burner either and I think it needs it. However, that didn't stop me from baking bread in it immediately! This isn't the prettiest loaf or the best pic, but I was thrilled to bake it in this oven. Whole wheat rye. Finally up and running. Now maybe I'll feel motivated to stain the drawer front and put in the tile permanently. Attachments:

Have you verified that the line between the thermostat and the pilot isn't blocked, or the pilot itself? If it's clear then the problem has to be in the thermostat. Debris possibly? Is it cycling okay between main and bypass?
Edit - Seems we were typing at the same time - Glad it's working!
