This is a recipe I have used for many years and I have always had very good luck with them. Hope you like them.
NO-KNEAD CRESENT ROLLS
1 pkg. yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1t. sugar 1/2 c. melted butter or margarine 1 t. salt 3/4 c. hot water 3 eggs 5 c. all purpose flour
Mix yeast, lukewarm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let stand 5 or 10 minutes.
In large bowl of electric mixer, mix 1/2 c. sugar, melted butter, salt and hot water; beat. Add room temperature eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
If the mixture is only lukewarm at this point, add yeast mixture and 1 cup flour, beating until flour is well blended. Remove beaters, and with wooden spoon, add 4 more cups of flour, beating well after each addition. Dough will be soft. Place in a deep greased bowl. Turn once to grease top of dough. Cover with clean dish towel, and place in refrigerator for two hours or overnight.
When ready to bake, divide doughg in quarters. Roll one quarter at a time on lightly floured board in a 8" circle. Keep remaining dough covered. Spread surface of rolled dough with melted butter or margarine. Cut dough into fourths, then in eights. Starting fromwide end, roll dough away from you into crescents. Place rolls on lightly greased cookie sheet about 2" apart. Cover and let rise for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.

Just made these. I can’t believe how easy and delicious they are and that this is the first time I’ve ever tried them! And baked: I halved the recipe, because it’s just me and hubby this morning, but we just about finished them even so. Damn, they were good!!! It calls for three eggs, but I just used a honking big duck egg. I figured that must be equivalent to 1 1/2 chicken eggs. I also made half of them with cinnamon sugar inside. For breakfast dessert.😋

Yes, too bad some of these oldsters don't come back so we can thank them for their contributions. This looks like a great recipe naana. Did you use the bread bucket?

No, because I halved the recipe, so only about 2 1/2 cups of flour. The pail doesn’t really work well till you get up over 6 or seven cups. Otherwise the dough hook just kind of glides over the flour without pulling it in. It’s no knead, though, so just a bit of mixing with a wooden spoon. Nothing too strenuous!

Nana, did you add 1/2 c sugar, like the directions say (but not the ingredient list)? I want to make these for dinner, if I can get going on them...

Ha, I never even noticed that the sugar was not in the ingredients list!! Shows how super observant I am!😳
Yes, I did the teaspoon to wake up the yeast and added the 1/2 cup as well as it said to in the directions. They were definitely a sweet bread, but not too sweet. If you made them with less, or none, they would probably be fine as well, though!

I would have only added the 1tsp sugar that the ingredients said and then the 1/2 cup butter.
