YOGURT!! I want to make homemade yogurt from my Jersey cow raw milk...in the T-WELL! It should be easy as pie as the temp on my T-well is about 120 degrees and someone said they just put a towel over the well?? My friend made some from my cow but she used a yogurt maker. it was amazing but I want to have Madeline made it, she makes everything so well, I think that this might be the cat's meow....anyone out there who's tried it???

Gee, i just posted about this for the second time...maybe it was on the "other" site. I'll copy it nevertheless. I make it about once per week and it is delish. Actually, if your well is 120deg (mine is MUCH hotter) I would just do a makeshift double boiler...hot water bath to surround the yogurt and just leave the lid slightly ajar if it's only 120deg. That is the max temp for yogurt. It's best between 110 and 120. I'm jealous you have fresh milk.

You really want to keep the yogurt between 110 and 115 degrees. If it's too hot it won't cure correctly and the bacteria will be killed off.
