Greetings all. I'm new here. I anxiously await my c90's completion. In the mean time I shipped the thermowell top down south with a few others items. Unfortunately when I opened the box the cover was punctured in transit. . Does anyone have an extra cover to sell that is in decent shape and won't break the bank? Thanks all....

I don't have and extra, but is there any way you can patch it to make it functional? JBweld works for aluminum, so long as it doesn't get direct heat. Is it the top or the bottom that's punctured? Someone needs to develop a way to fix these things, especially the ones that have gotten wet.

First off, WELCOME metrowmn!!! Glad your joining up with us "Chambers Crazies"--watch out that you don't wind up with like 3 or MORE Chambers that you thought you could NEVER live w/o!! Keep an eye on eBay, they come up there fairly regularly. Just ASK if the lid "rattles" when you shake it--that means its been submerged in H20 and no good. Now that the seasons are changing, I remember reading like an ORIGINAL post when this site opened. Somebody bought a lid off of craiglist or eBay, and it was shipped to their house. The mailman brought it up to the door--snowy & actual temp was in the teens I believe. The owner opened it up, and put it directly on his lidless thermowell. Well, with the PILOT in the bottom and that thing THAT cold, it "blew up"--I mean, popped the seams! LOL, funny NOW, but sure it wasn't for that unfortunate Chambers owner... CHEERS! Chuckie

Thanks for the welcome Chuckie. I anxiously await my baby but it'll be awhile before I can use it. I'm designing my kitchen around it, in a 1943 cottage I bought. I think it'll be right at home there. In the mean time I'm absorbing as much as I can and collecting all of the accouterments that I'll need. Has anyone found stainless steel pots that fit in the thermowell? I'm a bit skittish about using aluminium. Vapor ac. I'll check out the Jbweld. The puncture is on the top. It may be ok until I find a replacement.

Thanks Beth. I'm watching, waiting and hoping it doesn't shake. :-)
