I’m in Tennessee, about 60 miles east of Knoxville on Cherokee Lake. My cabin sits at the end of a cove and looks out toward the main body of the lake. It is about 1/2 mile from my cabin to the main body of the lake and the lake is a little over mile wide at this point. Cherokee Lake is over 30 miles long and is run by the Tennessee Valley Authority as flood control; in the winter they lower the lake 40 feet and I have no water behind me but still have the view of the lake (when it’s cold I don’t care).
This view is what keeps me living in a half done house and working on it ;D

Ooooohhhh, gorgeous! I MISS looking at water, as I grew up in Minnesota, Land of 10,000 Lakes. Virginia is lovely in very many ways, it has only a few man-made lakes, and none in my viewshed. When I really need a water fix, the best I can do now is to clean out the cattle tank at the farm...
