OK, somebody tell me there is an EASY WAY to disassemble a gas valve on a "B" w/o TOTALLY taking it apart? I was a rank amateur when I did Isabel and did NOT take the valves apart. Now the "r" front burner is hanging up BADLY. PLEASE tell me that there IS an easy way to do this. I can't imagine that in the old days a Chambers repairman would come out and take the whole front off, etc to get this job done, but I could be wrong... And LET THIS BE A LESSON to those that are redoing theirs now and not wanting to do that. It MAY come back to haunt you/bite you in the @$$ like it did MOI! I have redone ALL the valves on the stoves I've done since Isabel, and now I am CERTAINLY GLAD I did! CHEERS! Chuckie

Iwill check with the friend who helped do mine. I know we did NOT take the front off, but I believe we already had the top off. I know he just pulled them out somehow without taking them apart. It did grease the valves, however, so I don't think it's necessary to disassemble.

Think I just found the solution on pages 13/14 of the "B" service Manual: www.vintagechambers.com/pdfs/B-BZ-ServiceManual.pdfHopefully, it is just "binding" as stated on page 13, as that sounds like an "easy fix". The "how to remove" on page 14 sounds more complicated, BUT you do NOT have to disassemble the stove---W-H-E-W!!! I'm going to have to go back and read my REALLY OLD posts, as I think I did disassemble those and grease them, but I'm not for certain. Maybe I just used that heat proof grease on broiler box gears on Isabel... CHEERS! Chuckie

I still have to check, but I know I was reading the instructions, while he was greasing them. I did ask if we didn't need to take them apart and he said "I'm just following the instructions". He unscrewed them somehow. I did later take the front off, but I can't remember why.

Can anyone share pics or video of the two crescent wrench method for turning valves on Model B manifold so they can be pulled apart and greased? I have read the posted explanations a hundred times and cannot visualize where to place either wrench.
