I've never been interested in Ds but I'm suddenly feeling very warm.

$569.00 got her - 3 bidders, not bad. I've never been attracted to D's either, but that one was a real show stopper

I've never been a big fan of the D's either maybe because the styling reminds me of the huge Frigidaire Imperial Flair my mom had. One of the burners never worked right & some of the knobs would come off too easily because of the way they were made, but it was impressive to look at though. I'll have to admit that this red one is rather appealing. The red isn't as overpowering as a red C because it's just on the front & sides, but even that is broken up by the chrome trim on the corners. I almost went to look at a D that was for sale in Kentucky not far from me, but it was a white one & seemed a little too ordinary for my taste, & out of character for my 1939 house.

Hi, There is a possiblilty that a home that is being sold in our neighborhood has a D Chambers that they want to sell. The older couple said the stove works pretty good, but they have no booklets or papers on it. I tried to find something here like a manual but I am not sure where to look for the information that used to be posted at this site. Is there a link for the free printed stove information? Thanks a bunch!!

I don't know what happened to our website at vintagechambers.com. It's gone at the moment, but perhaps there moving it to a new server, or some other technical reason at the moment. But we don't have a copy of the manual for the model MR-9-H. Todd White sells one at www.chamberstoves.net/Literature.html for $15.00 each. I found an old one for sale on Craigslist for an electric version of this model at jackson.craigslist.org/app/3072695539.html. The ad says; "Original Chambers Owners Guide and assorted accompanying materials and recipes brochure." If someone has an extra $25, this would be a nice addition to get scanned & posted on our website even though it is for an electric version. If you have any specific questions, I'm sure we can at least try to answer them. The model D as we call it, isn't greatly different than the older models. It just has a little more modern styling from the time period.

Oh thank you. I thought I was going crazy. I remember there was helpful information posted, but I just couldn't find it. Maybe it will be back up on this site soon. Thank you again.

Technology is great when it works right, but when it doesn't, it can be a real hair puller. We come to depend on it, then when it goes bad, we're helpless.
I'll have to admit that I try to know as much as I possibly can about doing things for myself as far as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, car repair & you name it. I try to be as self sufficient as I can. But I have come to depend on the internet for information. But I'm a throwback to an earlier time. If a lot of this technology went away, I'd miss it, but I'd survive. But for far too many people, if their gadgets stopped working, they'd be helpless.
I still have phones with dials, some dating back to the 30' & 40's. I know we've come a long way since then, but I'll have to say that our lives aren't significantly better, only easier. But who cares what I think. I'm just an old curmudgeon. ;D
