Normally I never promote a product but this is a little different. In this economy there are more people breaking into houses and taking large items. Do you think nobody will break into your house and take your Chambers stove because it weighs so much? Well, think again – they took my two Pre-A stoves and hand carried them up a hill to the road (more than 200 feet away).
I found an alarm system that does not cost you an arm & a leg and no contract required. The company is called SimpliSafe. It is easy to self-install, easy to purchase direct online, and doesn't require a contract or a telephone line. For $15 per month you can get (but not required) professional monitoring/police dispatch via build in cell phone. My total cost was just over $300 for base system plus 8 Wireless Entry Sensors and an outside siren.
GOOD PART: 60 day guarantee- not satisfied, return your system within 60 days for a full refund (I’m satisfied). Easy to install and easy to program the way you want it ( some reading & a few questions to customer servie). I put one entry sensor on my storage building 60ft away from my house and have it activated at night when I’m home. Customer support is excellent when you have questions or have a problem. Professional monitoring response time is quick. When the alarm is set off, the system send info to SimpliSave monitoring, then they call your phone number to check and ask for your pass word. No answer or no password, they call the police. I accidently set my system off a few times and they were quick to call.
BAD PART: When I purchased the system I was worried that the stick on sensors would not stay stuck. It turns out the opposite is true. Be very very careful to get the sensors in the correct position you want it when installing them because when you stick them in place they are a pain in the ass to take back off and move. Standard Motion Sensors did not work well with my cat. (15lbs & jumps up over 6 feet). They have less sensitive motion sensors if you ask for them (good for dogs but not my cat). Good thing- SimpliSave took back the motion sensors – no problem.
