Switching to the universal pin didn't make much difference

Let us know the results of using the solid pin with the other orifice. Did you adjust the air yet? Whatever happened to the by-pass?

I hear you. It's annoying when technology fails us! Excellent news and a long time coming! Be sure to post a pic. I wonder why that's the case, but best to be happy it's working. How is the oven calibration and by-pass burner or aren't you there yet?

Everything is coming together now

Leland - It's frustrating sorting through it sometimes but man does it feel good when you resolve it! I always tell people that diagnostics is a lot like detective work where you keep gathering info, then it suddenly comes together and you solve the case. Thanks for following through and keeping us updated, too. Fortunately it isn't too common but sometimes people ask for ideas and then never get back with us and it leaves us scratching our heads wondering what the outcome was. Now we're looking forward to hearing about your cooking adventures with it!

Everything is working well now except the pilot on me safety valve goes out randomly any ideas You can try adjusting the pilot flame up a bit--sometimes the thermocouple gets 'weak' as it gets older, and needs a wee bit more heat. If that doesn't work, you could try replacing the thermocouple--pretty easily done. CHEERS! Chuckie

The flame was set to the highest and this is all new parts HMMMMMMMMMMMMM, if something isn't blowing the pilot out, maybe the safety is getting or IS bad. Does it do it while in operation--I mean, when you're cooking something, does it go out then? Or is it when it is sitting there idle? Not much difference, but might help someone come up w/some idea(s) as to WHY that is happening... CHEERS! Chuckie

(I am assuming we are talking about the standard RobertShaw thermocouple/safety here...)
I had this issue when I first set up my stove and I have it about once a year since then.
What I do: * first and foremost, I carefully reach in with needle nose pliers and turn the pilot left/right until it is TOTALLY bathing the thermocouple in the flame. It can move a little over time. * if/when that doesn't work, I **CAREFULLY** take pliers and **GENTLY** squeeze the pilot/thermocouple closer together. I am not going for inches. When I am done, it is probably not even noticeable. You definitely don't want to put a kink in the gas line/pilot light.
After that adjustment, it might still trip the thermocouple once or twice... until it really heats up.
I also see similar issues if we go out of town for a couple of weeks and turn the oven gas line off out of paranoia. When that happens, it usually just needs us to light the pilot and turn the oven on for a wee bit. There is some amount of "normal heat" that really helps here. Once the oven warms up, the pilot and the insulation are enough to keep it warm... and this helps to keep the thermocouple happy.

This is the Robert shaw safety set up it goes out every time I stop thinking about it not when the oven is in use no problems when I am using the oven bu maybe a day later it goes out or maybe a few days it seams to be getting shorter it will always go out within a week
